ive got my ticket sorted
We should see if theres any christian bands playing, get them to do a worship gig on sunday nite and advertise it at coaster ! just a random idea that popped into my head. probably wont work or happen.
hehe, worship gig.. well.. you know what i mean
Angela’s Dish are playing.
Not a Christian band, but Christians in a band.
Interestingly there is a band called “We are grace”
Wonder what that means…
Good on ya VK for going! [I'm in canberra all that weekend
]
hehe i know what you mean – a good idea! Always good to consider the relationship between music and mission.
jpj – I didn’t know that about Angela’s Dish. Good on those Christians for living in the culture. I’m sure the music scene must be one of the hardest scenes to witness in.
Had a look at We Are Grace’s myspace. Seems kind of antithetical to Christianity… but I didn’t look very thoroughly…
I’d be heaps keen if there were any bands I liked.

hey luke… i reckon that’s the wrong way to approach it. you go because you’re a missionary… not because you like the music. it’s just a good offshoot if you like (or grow to like) the music being played.
Dave – hard words, but you’re right. My response was the same as Luke’s…
i think that’s probably part of 1 cor 9 contextualisation.
we preach the gospel on God’s terms. it’s about him. it’s from him. it’s by him. it’s for him.
but how we engage with people (contextualisation) is on about their terms. we become all things to all people that we might save some.
will i see you there then dave?
will i see you there then dave?
i just had a look at their website – there are some sweet bands playing!!
i won’t be able to make it.
1) unfortunately i’m not involved in ministry on the central coast
2) i don’t have the time at the moment.
what are your plans for talking about Jesus with people?
what non-Christian friends will you be going with?
