Sorry man, no headspace right now. I remember thinking it sounded reasonable, though I doubt I fully understood/stand it.
One thing I’m skeptical of: just because they can name something doesn’t mean it exists… I mean, theologians can draw distinctions with language that may not be meaningfully different.

PS Code tags are now back to normal. Not sure why, but not too fussed.

There was a period about a year ago where I thought: If Calvinism requires limited atonement, then I’m dropping Calvinism.
It just seemed that the verses about Christ dying for ‘all’, etc, couldn’t be much clearer.
Now I’m just plain unsure.

Great posts by Warnock.

The last 18 months has been a long journey for me and Anna.
We’ve come from separate sides:
Joel – Reformed
Anna – Charismatic

and have been trying to find God, ourselves, and a church all at the same time.

By no means have we arrived but its been a hard but amazing journey

I’m not nearly so well considered in my views. In fact, I’ve recently been disillusioned with all the complex theologies. I’ve been reading through the gospels, it seems the message is “Follow me”.

Reformed in the sense of being a Calvinist (at least 4 points, I’m withholding judgment on limited atonement at the moment).

I understand ‘reformed’, and I understand ‘charismatic’ (well, that’s debatable, I should probably say “I have my understanding of charismatic” – what you mean by it may be different).

Actually, how I understand ‘reformed’ might be different to you as well … you’ll have to be more specific I think.

Along the lines of (for the purposes of this example only) “I’m a semi-Augustinian, quasi-Oreginist, anti-Peligianist, anti-antinomianist, semi-pro-Lutheran, five-point Calvinist with slightly Kantian leanings”. You know, could you please just spell out ALL you’re theological understandings in your ‘name’.

Sorry, I’m just reading The History of Christian Thought, and getting carried away.
