… do I need to pray?
No. If you become a Christian you get to pray.

Yeah because talking to yourself is not only useful but FUN to!
But seriously… Anyone can pray, they don’t need to be a Christian to do it – but Christians are expected to pray. Just like anyone can go to church, but Christians HAVE to.
Obviously the “FUN to!” should be “FUN too!”
He’s a right theologian now!
“Anyone can pray, they don’t need to be a Christian to do it”
I’m no theologian, but let me ask you some questions:
Why should God listen to anyone at all, Christians included?
To whom is the non-Christian praying? If not God, then why would God respond to idolatry?
I don’t know for sure, but here is something I do know:
Anyone who prays, Christian or non-Christian, does so only by the blood of Jesus. The very idea that an blackened, idolatrous sinner can approach a pure, holy, and powerful God at all, least of all with a request, is mind-blowing. It is only once washed clean that we can do this – hence the symbolic (and miraculous) tearing of the temple curtain when Jesus died.
Jesus died so that we can pray. That is why I say Christians get to pray.
And no, Christians don’t have to pray, they should pray. (Using the word ‘pray’ in its sense of being a habit or having some form of regularity)
