Comments on: The Cussing Pastor Coming to the Coast http://www.thecrazyaustralian.com/the-cussing-pastor-coming-to-the-coast/ "For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain" Fri, 03 Feb 2012 08:05:51 +0000 hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.0.2 By: grant http://www.thecrazyaustralian.com/the-cussing-pastor-coming-to-the-coast/comment-page-1/#comment-19576 grant Sun, 30 Jan 2011 10:23:19 +0000 http://www.thecrazyaustralian.com/the-cussing-pastor-coming-to-the-coast/#comment-19576 luke, you most certainly came across much more rudely than tom. tom was expressing loving concerns. drsicoll does say some things that can be explicet. we should question him. and some of us will conclude it is too much and just not for us, and others like me, understand it better. but he is "testing everything" as the bible tells us to, in love, and makes valid points. unlike your points, which had no merit whatsoever. bringing up logs "that might be in his eye" with absolutely no idea what those may be. you almost seem to go with the "judge not" philosophy, which is incorrect. if you go on to read further, the bible does not say to judge not, entirely. if it did, why would it tell us in so many other parts, to, in fact, judge one another. like to call each other out on sin and what not.... what it means is not to judge in a hypocritical way. if we judge, make a righteous judgement. you have no merit that he is judging in a hypocritical way. what the bible means is that if you are struggling with pornagraphy and try to tell your friend he is wrong in looking at pornography, that is not a righteous judgement and you have no right to do so. your words will lack truth and helpfullness because you cannot give advice, in love, on a defeating a sin that you do not know how to defeat yourself. the body needs to work together. we all have strengths and need to strive off our strengths and weaknesses. so a person who has not looked at porn in two years could speak to those two people, biblically, and the bible would tell them to do just that. however, maybe this person struggles with many other sins. while those other two gentlemen ONLY really struggle with porn and not much else. these two porno believers would be considered to be more sanctified, more mature christians, but it doesnt change the fact that the one who has defeated porn is qualified to, and should help them with their struggles, which he has conquered and removed the log of. in turn, they should help him with all of his sins, and call him out on them.... the ones that they do not struggle with. we are so weak individually, but if we thrive off of each others strengths and weaknesses in this manner, we can be very strong. this is what the bible is speaking of, sir. im not saying you didnt know that. i just wanted tobring it up. luke,
