I like The Wiggles (so do the kids ;) ). They probably watch too much Wiggles, and it can be really hard to limit it. I got a real shock recently at how observant Anastasia is. I listen to ABC 702 in the car, and as we were driving a long, some chap was being interviewed, and Anastasia started giggling and repeated his name and some of what he had said (I can't remember who it was). So I realised that she actually listens to what is being said. Thank goodness I listen to the ABC, imagine if she started reciting some rubbishy, sexually-explicit lyrics from a song on a commercial radio station! So for that reason, I'm not too keen on her watching telly, especially given that some of the things that are on as early as 6pm contain completely inappropriate content.   In our house, we put  priority on reading every day, and they both love books, and won't go to sleep until Drew's read 'five stories'. We also do lots of craft, Anastasia goes to Kindy Gym, and they both do swimming lessons, as well as KidzBiz/creche at WOW and Sunday School. I think we've got a pretty good balance, so I'm not too fussed about The Wiggles.   However, I'm not too quick to judge mums who do let their kids watch TV. I know how tiring and draining chasing after two toddlers every day can get, and so I have some sympathy for women who just really want a bit of quiet, especially in the late afternoon/early evening, when the day just catches up with you. I'm fortunate that Drew's home early enough to help me through the 'hour-of-power' (5-6:30pm is the craziest time in our house). Some mums (or dads) don't have that luxury, and maybe it's just easier to turn on the telly and let the kids stare at it. Hmm, mine don’t watch TV, but they do get to watch some Wiggles DVDs.
